Anti-Roosting Spikes
This control program is based on the exclusion of the bird through a plastic or stainless steel spiked device, installed and designed to occupy the current perching/roosting locations. Anti-roosting spikes are best suited for ledges, window sills, peaks of roof, horizontal beams, and signs.

Where Can Anti-Roosting Spikes Help Prevent Bird Activity?
Building features that provide stable horizontal surfaces can quickly become preferred perching and roosting locations for nuisance birds. Roof peaks, window sills, ledges, horizontal beams, and signs are common examples.
Anti-roosting spikes are designed to occupy these surfaces so birds can no longer comfortably land in the treated area. The objective is not to trap or harm the birds. Properly installed spikes simply make the existing perch unsuitable, encouraging the birds to move elsewhere.
Choosing the appropriate spike system requires understanding which bird species is causing the problem. Different birds require different configurations, so matching the size of the system to the species is an important part of an effective installation.
We also evaluate the extent of the activity before determining where spikes should be placed. Treating one ledge while leaving nearby preferred roosting areas untouched may simply shift the problem. By looking at how birds are using the structure as a whole, we can determine whether spikes are appropriate and where they can provide the greatest benefit.
